ON MR. JOHN WESLEY'S SERMON ON FREE GRACE.
Mayst thou, great man, withstand a misled throng,
And prove, with aid divine, their teachers wrong.
May God a blessing to thy words impart,
And deep engrave them on each hearer's heart.
. . . [12 lines]
Such felt the shepherds, when th' angelic throng
In heav'nly anthems man's redemption sung.
